We recently supported a major wreck-removal project in Eastern Indonesia by supervising the oil removal operations from a sunken vessel. Working closely with the main contractor, our team monitored and coordinated the hot tapping method used to safely extract the remaining fuel and oils from the wreck’s tanks prior to salvage.
Our responsibilities included overseeing the hot tap setup, reviewing diver operations, ensuring proper safety procedures, and continuously monitoring the extraction process to mitigate any pollution risks. The operation was completed safely and efficiently, with all recoverable oil successfully removed without incident, providing a clean and controlled environment for the subsequent wreck removal phase.
